It has been confirmed that McLaren aims to produce a new F1 by 2012. Apparently the new version will be just as revolutionary as the first, with a focus on saving weight.

Unlike the MP4-12C, which has been criticized for unadventurous styling, the F1 will be ‘revolutionary’ according to McLaren insiders.
Some details; the car will have a carbon fibre monocoque and mid engined. And there might be ‘low emission’ solutions with regard to the powertrain. I hope this does not ruin what could be an amazing car, once again.

There are a total of 3 McLaren’s planed for the future, the existing MP4-12C, the new F1 and another that will be placed below the MP4-12C in the market.
