DeZir is powered by an electric motor mounted in a mid-rear position to optimize weight distribution over the front and rear wheels. The vertically-mounted 24kW/h lithium-ion battery is located behind the benchseat and provides the car with a range of 160km.

Although Renault have been introducing new cheap cars into South Africa lately, this new model aims to satisfy those looking for a more luxurious and elegant car with stylish traits and practicality.
There is an emphasis on driving ability of the new Laguna Coupé due to the 4 wheel turning system. At low speeds the rear wheels turn in the opposite direction to the front, giving it a class leading turning circle of 10.1 Meters. However after 60km/h the rear wheels then turn in the same direction as the front, enhancing the maneuverability and making it seem as if the car is sitting on railway tracks.
