If you enjoy biking chances are that you are familiar with the Isle of Man TT held every year at the end of May.

During this time, the Isle of Man transforms its’ public roads into a race track, the oldest motorcycle race track in the world at that.
Riders and tourists from all over the globe flock to see the time trial styled event take place. Riders reach insane speeds on the street course, requiring intense focus and skill. The track is about 60 kilometers long and features over 200 bends with an elevation from sea level to 396 Meters. As riders accelerate through the course, the change in elevation throughout some areas cause’s the bike to wheelie, after which it comes crashing down.

VAN NIEKERK SECURES ANOTHER PODIUM FINISH
THREE CLASS WINS FOR BROTHER KTM AT LESOTHO OFFROAD

A very cold Lesotho greeted riders and pit crew alike for Friday’s time trail of round four of the National Offroad Championship. The time trail was exceptionally fast for the mountain kingdom that is usually known for its technical terrain. Brother KTM rider Riaan van Niekerk (on an unfamiliar bike, a KTM 280 XCF-W) managed to secure a 4th starting position for the next day, only 45 seconds behind the leader. With his teammate Ruan Roberts not being able to race due to injury, the lead in the 200cc class was up for grabs.

Endurance race plays a key role in the final development as LFA moves to production

Playing a key role in helping to finalise the development of the LFA before it enters production in December, the gruelling Nürburgring 24 Hour race this weekend offers Lexus and Gazoo Racing two unique opportunities. Not only will the experience foster the peerless quality, durability and reliability expected of any Lexus, by pushing cutting-edge technology to the extremes of mechanical endurance, but also to hone the technical skills of the personnel involved in the development of future Lexus and Toyota production vehicles.

Yes it’s that time of the year again when SBK visits Kyalami! This is one of the most entertaining and adrenalin pumping motorsport event that South Africa will see this year. Some of the best riders from all around the world come to our doorstep to battle it out through the challenging Kyalami circuit.
In Friday practice, the SBK class was averaging 152km/h which is unbelievably quick around this circuit. A lap time less than 2 minutes is a very respectable time around Kyalami. The SBK riders were achieving 1min 37’seconds. This is the fastest form of racing South Africa has witnessed since SBK last year.

Formula 1 pilot Nico Hülkenberg makes successful Nordschleife debut
Stuttgart. The Porsche 911 GT3 R Hybrid has passed its most unusual task by now with flying colours in preparation for the Nürburgring 24 hour race on 15/16 May: AT&T Williams Formula 1 pilot Nico Hülkenberg tested the orange and white liveried racing 911 on the Nürburgring Nordschleife in the lead up to the third round of the VLN Long Distance Championship and was enthusiastic with many aspects: “Great car, fascinating technology and an incomparable track,” concluded Hülkenberg.

If you are looking to take part in the FIA GT3 cup you are spoiled for choice. You have offerings from Aston to BMW to Ferrari and now it has become even more difficult with the launch of the Mercedes Benz SLS AMG Gt3.
This truly magnificent looking car is based on the standard SLS but has sprouted a huge rear wing for down force as well as various vents and cooling ducts including a front splitter, a rear diffuser as well as side flics which provide down force on the front axle. The race engineered chassis is covered with carbon fibre bodywork which reduces weight as well as provided very effective aerodynamics thanks to CFD utilization.
